Number Stories from 1 to 10 for Kindergarten

In a child’s earliest years, numbers are learned at the pre-school (kindergarten) stage, and then in a wider and more complete way in the first grade. The more a mother at home — or a teacher in kindergarten — uses fun methods to teach children, the higher their achievement and the better their mastery of counting and writing skills. 1- A Story About the Numbers from 1 to 10

The teacher walks into the classroom, gets the board ready, and begins with the children: “Come along, my little heroes, let’s go to Number City and visit our friends the numbers: واحد (wahid — one), اثنان (ithnan — two), ثلاثة (thalatha — three), أربعة (arba’a — four), خمسة (khamsa — five), ستة (sitta — six), سبعة (sab’a — seven), ثمانية (thamaniya — eight), تسعة (tis’a — nine), عشرة (‘ashara — ten). Who will write the numbers (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) on the board? .. Excellent!”

“Today I’ll tell you a story about the very best number who lives in Number City. Who could it be?” The teacher shows the children some number cards and says: Number Ten was walking down the road with her little son (Zero). One day she entered Number City, and she loved the city and decided to live there. The other numbers saw her and sang to her: “Ten is a zero and a one!” Then she stood next to Nine.

Come on, let’s sing for the numbers! (“The One stands up straight.. the Two is looking at him, and Three has three little teeth, and Four is two and two, and Five is a cake with sugar, and Six is sitting and thinking, and Seven is looking up, and Eight is looking down, and Nine is grandpa’s walking stick, and Ten is a zero and a one.”) And the children sing the number song together several times.

Teaching Numbers to Kids from 1-10

The One called out and said: “I am the first of the numbers and the first of all things — for One is my Lord… so I am the master of the numbers.”

Ten looked around in confusion and said: “But I am the greatest in count among you, for the fingers of the hand are ten and the toes are ten, and children rejoice when they reach the number ten in their piggy banks.”

Nine replied and said: “How can Ten speak when she is only a guest who has come to us, made up of the number One hugging an empty box (Zero) so that it became ten? As for me, I am the last of the numbers and the greatest, and everyone is happy to own nine apples.”

Then Two spoke up and said: “Don’t my sweet children have two hands, two feet, two lips, two ears and two eyes? And in the Qur’an, Allah mentioned ‘of every kind, two pairs’ — so I am the best of the numbers.”

Four replied and said: “And I am double you, so my standing is twice as great as yours.”

Here Six laughed and said: “And I am written the opposite of your shape, and I point to the mind’s thinking, that’s what I express.”

Five stopped the conversation and said: “I express the geometric shape, for my circle is like the moon and the disc of the sun, and I am the easiest thing for children to write, and I point to the doughnut that children love — so I am the queen!”

An Arabic Number Story for Kids

Seven raised her hand, holding on to Eight, and said proudly: “We are a union, and in unity there is strength.”

And just as the whole conversation seemed to stop, Uncle Bashir stepped in to settle the disagreement and said: “None of the numbers can do without the others, for they come together to make the figures. We learn to count so we can recognize things, go to the market, and buy what we need, all relying on numbers. Numbers are our helping hands.”

“So let us all live happily together in Number City, and tomorrow we’ll go to visit Figures Island and help them prepare their party.”

“And now, my little ones, who can tell us how many balloons are in this box? .. Wonderful, my children! And now, who will put their hand into the surprise box? Come here, Ali.. go on, put your hand in and pull out what’s inside.. Ooooh, it’s a ball! How many balls do we have? Five! Well done, Ali. And now, my little ones, look for something in our classroom and tell me how many there are.”

Finally, the teacher hands out the children’s notebooks, with number worksheets from 1 to 10 attached to them.
