The Story of the Number Four (4) for Kindergarten
The teacher reads the story, writes it on the board, draws a 4, and says:
The number four went to the river to catch fish. He cast his line into the water and saw four beautiful fish.
Number four tried to catch all four fish, but he couldn’t, so he began to cry. A fisherman saw him and said, “I have four fish — one for me, one for my wife, one for my son,
and one for you.” Number four was delighted, took the fish, thanked the man for his gift, and returned home happy.
The mother or teacher then tells what we learn from the story:
- Strive and rely on yourself.
- Keep trying again and again without giving up.
- Wish good for others as you wish it for yourself.
- The fisherman’s generosity — sharing in the joy of number 4 instead of being greedy.
- When someone does you a kindness, express your thanks and gratitude — say: “May God reward you with goodness, thank you.”

while drawing the shape of the number on the board and reciting with gestures:

In the world there are ** four seasons
that bring changes to the weather
In the afternoon prayer ** four rak’ahs
filled with goodness and blessing
In my home ** four brothers and sisters
